The Yucatan peninsula belongs today to Mexico.
It extends between the waters of Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean sea and is today , as in the past, the most populated Mayan area.

Yucatan is reachable with direct flights from all over the world.
The preferred routes are to Merida , Cancun , Campeche e Chetumal.

A cheap way to travel in Yucatan is by means of buses that connect virtually any place in the region.
Car rental is also available , explecially in the big cities and along the East coast , very famous for its beautiful sandy beaches.

Local money is the New Mexican Peso and spanish is the spoken language.
The best way to visit Yucatan is to rent a car and travel around , expecially in the internal part where there are a lot of small Mayan villages where time seems to be stopped.

Almost everywhere, in the small markets and along the streets it is possible to buy handicraft products and taste the delicious traditional Mayan dishes.
More than 1000 Mayan archaeological sites are spread all over the region that , coupled with a land rich of natural resources and the extreme kindness of the local people , make a trip to Yucatan an unforgettable experience.
